Simon’s Beautiful Thought, Page 3

Simon walked up to the restaurant door. He looked down, the B2 glasses projected a wrist watch onto his wrist, he could see that it was five minutes to five. He stopped, hesitant, and then pulled his hat down and peeked into the window so no one inside would see him. There she was. Suchin was putting her things on a table, and then she sat down, obviously waiting for him. Simon smiled, then headed to the door.

Finally he was going to take a chance and go on a real date; a real, adult date. He put his hand on the door to push it open, he saw Suchin about to look up. Then suddenly, he turned and walked quickly away. Suchin looked up thinking she had seen someone at the door out of the corner of her eye. But no one was there.

As Simon was walking down the street, he looked next to him and saw Sandy walking along with him. She looked over at him and opened her mouth to say something, but he was quicker.

“Not a word,” he said, and she closed her mouth; she smiled at him and turned her attention to where she was walking.
