I wrote this for my sons Niquan & Tkylan, but I dedicate it to all children. I wish for them all an amazing life fuelled by an amazing imagination.

  Page 1

Meet Steven Kray, a little boy who is very sad today. You see, he is 7 about to turn 8 and he hasn't learnt how to imagine yet.

He has tried many times before, but all that he sees is nothing, or something he has seen before.

He hasn't ever dreamed he recalls, but perhaps that’s because his dreams are not worth remembering at all.

  Page 2:

He turns 8 in a week, but unlike other kids he is not looking forward to celebrating it.

All the games his friends will want to play, is no fun when you can't dream during the day.

One night, when he went to bed, he heard a strange sound knocking right under his head.

Most children would cower from the noise, but never would our brave little boy.

Master Kray could not imagine what could be on the ground, so there was nothing to fear, it was just a sound.

  Page 3:

There was a whizz, a swirl and a bang and out beside him, appeared a strange looking man.

He dressed weird and his nose was skew, who this was, Steven had no clue.

“Who are you? “ asked Steven.

I travelled from the land of imagination, where everyone is welcome from every nation.

There are no cars, boats or even a train station.

Yet an easy place to get to, unless you’re someone in your situation.

With your struggle, I may be able to help it seems.

For I am the one and only Mr. Dreamzzz.

If you are ready now we can leave, to find the imagination of you, little Steve. Said Mr. Dreamzzz.

Little Master Kray looked upon this man so strange but decided to trust him to bring about change.

They got down on the floor and climbed under the bed, then sank into the ground and disappeared from feet to head.

They arrived in a land filled with colour; there was warmth, care and love all over.

  Page 4

They took a short stroll filled with smiles, Little Stevie hasn't been so happy for quite a while.

They came to a rock stuck in the ground, and the man told Steven it was time for the first round.

Today there are 3 lessons we will try, if one is done right your imagination will fly.

To you, it will come running fast and wild; no more will you be an imaginationless child, said Mr. Dreamzzz.

Look at this rock and tell me what you can see, anything but a rock it will need to be.

Steven tried hard to imagine and broke out in a sweat, with a fizzle and fuzz there was still nothing yet.

I still see only a rock, what do you see? Asked Steven.

Let’s see what I see for us to see, hold my hand and won't you imagine with me? Asked the man.

He grabbed the rock with one hand, there was a whizz and a bang and the rock began to move through the sand.

  Page 5

I see a rhinomoleon who likes to live underground, let’s take a ride to the second round.

They rode the rhinomoleon until they came to a box, to try on something different besides rocks.

Look at this box and tell me what you can see, anything but a box it will need to be.

Steven tried hard to imagine and broke out in a sweat, with a fizzle and fuzz there was still nothing yet.

I still see only a box, what do you see? Asked Steven.

Let’s see what I see for us to see, hold my hand and won't you imagine with me? Asked Mr. Dreamzzz.

He grabbed the box and pulled open a door, one that was not there before.

I see a house, with 40 rooms and 1 floor, a box it was but not anymore.

  Page 6

This hasn’t seemed to work, we need to try round three, but be warned.... you may find it a little scary.

They continued to walk until a fallen tree which Mr. Dreamzzz will use to scare little Stevie.

Look at this tree and tell me what you can see, anything but a tree it will need to be.

Steven tried hard to imagine and broke out in a sweat, with a fizzle and a fuzz............. there was still nothing yet.

I still see only a tree, what do you see? Asked Steven.

Let’s see what I see for us to see, hold my hand and won't you imagine with me? Asked Mr. Dreamzzz.

They stood on the tree and it began to float, the log had now become a boat.

Three fins rose up from the sea, surrounded by sharks, circling Steve.

Steven let go of Mr. Dreamzzz hand and the vision disappeared as fast as it began.

  Page 7

Mr.Dreamzzz scratched his head wondering why and then he said:

Strange, very strange indeed for all three rounds not to succeed.

Your imagination is lost, preventing you to see and there is only one reason and one reason indeed.

There is a dark cottage at the end of the land and the very thought I cannot stand.

There hides a creature that captures with fear and a name you cannot bear to hear.

It can only be the very thought I hoped for the least, your imagination has been captured by the beast.

To the beast we must go to rescue your own, but it’s not something we can do alone.

The beast has 6 eyes, 2 to see behind and 5 vile creatures who stand by his side.

Should we go now, highly unprepared, we will surely fail miserably instead.

Should we not rescue your imagination, to the other lands he will spread in retaliation.

  Page 8

We must seek help from the keepers of the land, to defeat the beast we require their hand.

To the centre they go, of this wondrous place, to the keepers of the land, they will plead their case.

They find the keepers, 5 in all, 4 of them short and 1 very tall.

To the keepers, our heroes tell their tale, seeking their guidance and their aid.

The keepers turn and begin to mutter and turn to the two and start to utter:

We do not have the extra strength to spare; this does not mean we do not care.

For you to rescue what you own, it’s a must you do it all alone.

We will teach you how to defeat the beast, and provide you with weapons at the very least.

A sword, a bow, a shield and a dagger, this will suffice to cause the beast to stagger.

Once this is done you will need to complete the final test and need to try better than your very best.

You will need to act fast to stop the plague, you need to imagine the beast in a cage.

  Page 9

Our heroes set off to the east, in order to battle the nasty Beast.

They arrived at the dark cottage, riddled with fear but knocked on the door for all to hear.

The door burst open and out came five creatures who didn't want them alive!

Our heroes got up and battled with pride, defeating the five in a short space of time.

With the five creatures now a mess, our heroes entered the cottage with an aim for success.

  Page 10

Into the cottage they crept in slow, waiting for signs of the beast to sho
w.

There was a grunt, unmistakably clear and Mr. Dreamzzz fainted in fear.

Little Steve was all alone, could he defeat the beast on his own?

In the cottage there were a flight of stairs, down it went to a dungeon of despair.

He came to a room, as dark as can be, red eyes were the only thing he could see.

  Page 11

The beast swiped at Steven with his claws, Steven ducked and dodged every paw!

Steven struck back after every attack until the beast stumbled and fell on his back.

Steven sighed in exhausted relief, happy that he has finally defeated the beast.

Mr. Dreamzzz eventually came through, and they began to search every inch of every room.

They found a cage made out of fear, it had to be Stevens and nothing else was near.

They tried every weapon, there was no mistake, and nothing would cause the cage to break.

They wondered then how to trap the beast, if the very thing they need is out of reach.

The beast began to move and would soon rise; they don't have the energy to fight it twice.

  Page 12

Steven tried to imagine the cage they need, perhaps he was close enough for his imagination to break free.

Steven tried to imagine and broke out in a sweat, after a fizzle and fuzz, there was still nothing yet.

He tried again, and again, again and again and after 5 fizzles it seemed to be all in vain.

The beast had now risen and it was his last chance, he needed to try with all his heart.

He thought about how much pain the beast would bring, for everyone else, not only for him.

He tried so hard that he couldn't stand, but soon heard ......a whizz and a bang.

  Page 13

He opened his eyes and saw his imagination free and the beast was locked up for no one to see.

Steve was exhausted but smiled with pride; he no longer is an imaginationless child.

He wasted not a second and ran outside, eager to create worlds inside his mind.

He immediately climbed the nearest tree, turned to his friend and asked: Won't you imagine with me?
