  INT LIVING ROOM – AFTERNOON

  Dream who is 16 teen is a beautiful, has black long silky hair and a beautiful brown complexion. Although most of the time you will never notice because of the way she keeps her self up.

  She is sitting one the side corner of the couch wearing a over sized t shirt and some sweat pants. She has a notebook in her hand.

  She always has this pad and you cant always catch her writing things down in it. She also has a ipod and a headset on her head.

  Her two older cousins Keish and Karla is standing in the living-room of their grandmothers house where they all stay.

  Keish is 19 years old tall and over weight, Karla 18 years old skinny and fairly good looking. These two are inseparable. And normally gang up on Dream who is the younger cousin that just moved in with them and their grandmother.

  We focus on the TV

  One of the worlds best and greatest record

  labels is in town looking for new talent they

  will be holding open auditions this Saturday

  only.

  Karla turns to Keish

  KARLA

  (excited)

  Girl we in there.

  KEISH

  You already know we about to be on.

  KARLA

  Yeah it’s time to turn up.

  Dream caught a glimpse of the commercial as it wen off and took her headset off to find out what her cousins were so excited about.

  DREAM

  What are yall so excited about what was just

  on TV.

  Karla turns and looks at her and crosses her arms.

  KARLA

  None of your business.

  KEISH

  Why every time we talking you jumping in

  our conversation.

  DREAM

  I was just trying to see what was going on

  that's all sorry.

  Keish and Karla mother Tonya comes in the room.

  TONYA

  What is all this commotion in here.

  KEISH

  Nothing Momma just Dream always in our

  business all the time

  DREAM

  All I asked was what was the commercial on

  TV for that's all.

  TONYA

  What commercial

  KARLA

  They have a audition for a recording contract.

  DREAM

  That's something that I would of wanted to

  know about.

  KEISH

  Why you can’t sing or dance.

  Their Grandmother walks in the room.

  She walks into the center of every one looking around at them all.

  NANA

  I heard yall from all the way in my bedroom. I

  don’t see what the big deal is why can’t she know

  about the audition. And why is it that yall two

  can’t be nice to your cousin.

  KARLA

  Its not about being nice every time we get ready

  to do something she always trying to tag along.

  NANA

  She may want to do things to instead of being

  stuck in this house everyday with me.

  KEISH

  It don’t matter even if we did tell her she not

  old enough to go and its closed auditions so

  we cant bring anyone along.

  Tonya looks around at them.

  TONYA

  I guess that settles that.

  Keish and Karla start walking out the living room as Karla leans over to Keish and whispers.

  KARLA

  They didn’t have a age on the auditions.

  KEISH

  I know that way we don’t have to hear

  Nana’s mouth and we don’t have to take

  her.

  They walk towards the back towards their bedroom.

  Dream sits back sad and puts her headphones back on her and opens her notebook.

  INT BEDROOM

  Keish and Karla is standing in front of the mirror.

  KEISH

  Girl we got this.

  KARLA

  You don’t have to tell me.

  They slap each other a hi five and burst out into laughter.

  Tonya walks into the bedroom closing the door behind her.

  TONYA

  When you girls go for this audition you better

  kill it. I’m tire of living in your Nana house. So

  you two better sing your hearts out.

  Tonya sticks out her finger and points at both of them as she stares with a serious face. She then turns and opens the door and walks out the room.

  INT LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON

  Keish and Karla walk pass Dream who is sitting on the couch as the are all dressed up for the audition. They both smirk and giggle as they walk through the door.

  As the door shuts Dreams slams her notebook and stands up aggravated. She walks over to the window and stares out the window.

  EXT APARTMENT BUILDING - AFTERNOON

  Karla and Keish walk out of the front door of building. As they walk down the street up the side walk they look up and see Dream staring out the window. T

  They continue walking up the street until they fade into the distance.

  INT LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON

  Dream stares out the window she starts tapping the window with her finger, and hitting the window seal making a beat. She starts to sing.

  DREAM

  Singing

  She closes her eyes and sings. And sings.

  She opens her eyes and turns and sees Nana and Tonya standing in the doorway with their mouths wide open in amazement.

  She is scared and caught off guard and jumps back and stops singing.

  Tonya and Nana walk in with the grocery bags. They take them into the kitchen.

  Nana comes into the living room where Dream is sitting on the couch she sits down on the couch next to her.

  Dream takes her headphones off.

  NANA

  Baby I had no idea you had a voice like that.

  You remind me so much of your mom. You

  know both your mom and your aunt Tonya

  had amazing voices as kids. And they had

  the chance to be famous, but it was clear

  that your mom had something special and

  she would not sing without out her sister.

  She finally gave up on her Dream when she

  got pregnant with you. And that was when

  her and Tonya relationship changed.

  DREAM

  She never told me about that.

  NANA

  I know nobody knew the real reasons she

  gave up singing not even Tonya. She was

  offered several solo deals but she refused to

  take them and she didn't have the heart to

  tell her sister that they only wanted her.

  As they sit on the couch the commercial for the audition comes on. They both sit and watch it. After it goes off Dream turns to Nana.

  DREAM

  They don’t have a age bracket for the auditions.

  NANA

  Go get ready let me get my coat and my keys.

  Dream hugs her and hops up off the couch.

  INT KITCHEN - AFTERNOON

  Tonya is leaning against the wall as she listens in on Dream and Nana conversation. She looks over and sees the keys on the counter and walks over and grabs them and walks out the back door.

  INT LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON

  Nana is checking the pillow cushions on the couch
for her keys.

  Dream comes into the room dressed excited.

  DREAM

  I’m ready

  Nana looks up at her.

  NANA

  Have you seen my keys. I could of swore I

  put them on the counter in the kitchen.

  Call your aunt Tonya.

  Dream picks up the phone and calls Tonya.

  The phone goes straight to voicemail.

  She hangs the phone up. As Nana keeps looking.

  DREAM

  Nana don’t worry about it I will find a way their.

  She puts down the phone walks over and kisses Nana on the cheek grabs her note book and walks out the door.

  INT AUDITION - AFTERNOON

  Keish and Karla went in together. They both took their turns singing and dancing for the judges. The judges enjoyed the auditions. One of the judges songwriter/recoding artist Neyo remained quiet and just watched the entire time.

  JUDGE

  We have some things to talk about. Both

  of you guys will be considered we will be

  in touch with you.

  They both walked out of the room satisfied with their performance.

  EXT STREET - AFTERNOON

  A bus stops at the corner as it take off Dream runs across the street to the building holding the auditions. She rushes to the door and garbs the handle and pulls but the door is locked. She drops her head and walks away from the door she walk around the side of the building and leans against the wall.

  INT OFFICE - AFTERNOON

  All the judges are at a table. The one judge that spoke at the audition turns to Neyo.

  JUDGE

  What you think.

  NEYO

  I think we seen some talented people. However

  I don’t think we found what I am looking for.

  EXT STREET - AFTERNOON

  Dream puts on her headphones and starts singing. She puts her notebook in her bag and doesn’t zip it up. As she stands at the bus stop.

  INT OFFICE - AFTERNOON

  JUDGE

  What about the two sisters

  NEYO

  They were ok, one had a voice but no look

  the other had a look but the voice wasn’t

  strong enough to back it.

  JUDGE

  I think they are workable.

  Neyo hears a melody coming from the window. He sits alert in his chair.

  JUDGE (CONT’D)

  Do you think that they are workable.

  NEYO

  Hold on.

  Neyo holds his hand up and stands up and walks over to the window. He opens it all the way ad looks down at

  NEYO (CONT’D)

  Hey

  He yells

  NEYO (CONT’D)

  She’s what we need.

  All the judges jump up and rush to the window and look down at her.

  JUDGE

  We didn’t see her, she never auditioned.

  NEYO

  She just did go get her.

  The judge rushes out the office.

  EXT STREET - AFTERNOON

  The bus pulls up to the stop and Dream gets on, her notebook falls out of her bag.

  The door for the bus closes as the bus pulls off.

  The judge rushes to the corner as the bus drives down the street. The judge sees the notebook on the ground and picks it up and walks back towards the building.

  EXT PARK - EVENING

  Dream is just walking through the park wasting time on the way home.

  INT BUILDING HALLWAY - EVENING

  Dream grabs her bag to pulls out the keys when she reaches the door. She quickly opens the bag as she realizes the notebook isn’t in it she takes the keys out and opens the door.

  INT LIVING ROOM - EVENING

  Dream walks in disbelief that she has lost her notebook. As she walks into the living room she stops in her tracks as she see’s Neyo sitting on the couch with her note book in his hand.

  He smiles at her and stands up. As he hands the book to her The address is written on the back of the book.
