Nathan squinted as a blinding light lit up his cab. Shielding his eyes with his right hand, he started to slow down just as he made out the form of a sedan barreling towards him. "Fuck!" he yelled, spitting out the cig as he pulled the wheel sharply to the left, clenching his teeth as the car flashed past him narrowly missing his truck. "You fucking dumb shit. Watch where the hell you're going!" he shouted, hitting his brakes as he looked in his rearview mirror. The car swerved sharply down the road before running head on into a large pine with a resounding crunch of metal and shattered glass. "Oh shit." he breathed, not believing what he just saw. Stomping out the smoking butt near his gas pedal he put the truck into reverse, quickly backing up towards the crash. "Stupid fucking drunk." he seethed, glancing at the time on his dash to see that it was ten till nine. "Ugh. Yea I'm going to be late." he grumbled as he turned his hazard lights on before getting out. The front end of the car was smashed in, wrapping around the towering pine. Jogging up to the wrecked car, Nathan pulled out his cell phone, groaning in disbelief upon seeing that he didn't have a signal. "Great."

Coming up to the shattered drivers side window, he used his phone as a makeshift flashlight. The driver, a petite red head, was slumped forward unconscious, her bloody face pressed into the deflated airbag. Dumb bitch wasn't even wearing a seat belt. He thought as he flashed the phone into the back seat. Nathan didn't see anyone else before focusing on the injured woman once more. "Hey, you okay?" he asked, his voice shaky as panic started to take hold. No response came from the woman her body slumped against the steering wheel. Looking at his phone again, brought him no luck in gaining a signal. Taking a step back from the car he dialed 911 anyway, silently praying that it would somehow get through. To his relief a broken up ring tone started, ringing twice before the call was picked up. His elation quickly died though as an automated voice told him that all lines were busy.

"Fuck!" he shouted. Forcing himself to focus, Nathan pushed back the rising panic as he came up towards the driver. "Hey, you alright? Still alive?" he asked hurriedly as he gingerly reached in to feel for a pulse on her neck as he tried to remember how they did it on that hospital drama that was on last night. A groan escaped her bloodied lips as she shifted slightly, banishing the sinking suspicion that he was talking to a corpse. I need to get her to a hospital. He thought as he made to open the door. The door didn't budge. He tried the passenger door with no success. "Are you kidding me?" he asked himself upon seeing that the opposite doors were pinned against a neighboring pine. "Sorry about this." he mumbled as he reached in through the driver's side window, snaking his forearms underneath her armpits. Just as he was about to pull a bone chilling warbling shriek sounded not to far off. A chill went up his spine as he quickly looked around, his heartbeat thundering in his ears. What the hell? He thought before he started tugging on the comatose woman. At first he feared that her legs had gotten pinned as she didn't budge until he heaved on the fourth tug, pulling her half way out of the vehicle. The sound of something wildly crashing through the woods towards them grew increasingly louder as Nathan managed to pull her free from the wreck. Another shriek split the air, causing the hairs on the back of his neck to stand up on end. "Move it man." he grunted to himself as he hoisted the petite woman in his arms and ran back to his truck, not wanting to find out what was coming. Just as he opened the door to his truck to shove the woman in, the sound of something landing atop the wrecked sedan caused him to look back. Mentally screaming at himself not to, he nonetheless turned before resting his eyes upon a nightmarish sight. A small boy, probably around the age of eight or ten squatted atop the dented roof of the car. Bloody froth dripped from the child's grinning mouth as his demonic eyes bored into his. Tracks of blood coursed their way down his cheeks to drip off his chin, staining his already torn and bloody shirt. From the amount of broken glass covering the boy, Nathan quickly assumed with a cold certainty that he had been sent hurtling through the windshield when the car crashed. Move it Nathan. He thought, watching in horrid fascination as the child cocked his head at an impossible angle.

"Want to play with me mister?" he asked innocently as he brought up his right hand. His small fingers elongated to six inch claws with the flick of his wrist, his nightmarish eyes, blood red pupils surrounded by soulless black pits examining the malformed digits. "I promise I won't hurt you." turning his baleful gaze upon Nathan, the bloody grin grew wider. "Much."
