The Adventures of Charlotte and Bloom, Page 2

Ashlynn Elliott

  Chapter 3

  What’s up with Bloom?!?!?!

The next day, after getting permission, the girls went canoeing again. When Charlotte got to the docks, Bloom was already waiting there. Bloom had a puzzled look on her face.

  “What?” Charlotte asked, confused.

  “Where’s the canoe?” she asked.

“Oh, No! I left it at my house!” Charlotte yelled, worried.

“Who cares? We’ll take rafts!” Bloom said. The girls ran to the raft shop. They picked up one red raft and one blue one, and then set sail.

The two girls rode until they came across “Bloom Island” again. They got off and tied their rafts to the two palm trees, and went back on.

  “Let’s nap!” Bloom said.

“That’s fine with me!” Charlotte said, and then plopped down on her raft. Then, Bloom did too.

When Bloom woke up, it was late. She shook Charlotte to make her wake up. “Argh, do I have to get up?!” Charlotte groaned.

“Yes! It’s late!!” Bloom said half-asleep. Bloom got in the water, cracked her neck, and stretched her arms.

Suddenly, Charlotte fell into the water! Bloom noticed green, sparkly stuff coming out her hands! “Charlotte! Are you OK?” she yelled.

“Why did you push me into the water?!” Charlotte yelled at her, with water coming out of her nose.

“I didn’t! It was magic!!” Bloom yelled back at her. Charlotte gave her a dirty look.

“Prove it.” Charlotte said in disbelief.

Bloom aimed her hand at her raft. Charlotte stood there, shocked, watching Bloom and her green magic lift her raft, right before her eyes. “Holy cow….” She said, as if in a trace. When she broke out of the “trance” she yelled, “AWESOME!!!” The girls went home.

  Chapter 4

  Fairy? Mermaid?! BLOOM?!?!?!?!?!

When they arrived on the beach, they ran straight to Charlotte’s house. They burst through the door, and yelled at her mom, “Mom, can Bloom spend the night?!”

“Sure.” She yelled back at them.

The girls walked into Charlotte’s room. “I’m scared.” Bloom said. “What is this isn’t normal?”

“ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?! OF COURSE THIS ISN’T NORMAL!!!!!!!!! THAT’S WHY WE’RE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Charlotte yelled. “Sorry. This is just so overwhelming. Not just you, me! You are….. Like……umm…….. Some kinda fairy-person! And you’re my BFF!!”

Charlotte grabbed her mini laptop. She typed in a search website. Then, she typed in “Green Magic”.

She clicked on the link called “Magic girls”

It said “Have you had some weird things happening to you? Have you ever froze, burned, blown, or moved water with your hands? Did you ever turn into a mermaid?” Charlotte stopped right there.

“Ok. THIS is ridicules’.” Charlotte groaned.

  “NO!! Keep reading!” Bloom bounced.

“Whatever…….” She groaned. “Have you ever turned into a fairy? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you must be a magic girl! There are none left in the world, so you must be the only one! Click next to find out more!”

“Yay! Click next, Charlotte!” Bloom said. She hit the button. Bloom read, “If you are a magic girl, you need some information. First of all, you are a fairy. When you transform into a fairy, you have the power of fire. You can control it; make it, and burn things.” Bloom looked excited!

“THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!” Bloom screamed. “What do you think, Charlotte?!”

Charlotte stood there. “Uhhhhhhhhhhhh………………… Well, I guess there always was something different about you….” She tried to make out a grin. Bloom gave her a dirty look. “OK, OK.”

Charlotte read the next paragraph. “You should also note that you are also a mermaid. When you are a mermaid, you can control water. You can shape it, or do anything with it. You can also breathe underwater, even when you aren’t a mermaid!” Charlotte just sat there. “Wow.” She said.

Bloom said, “Look! There’s more!” Bloom read, “You have two more powers. When you are just a normal person on land, you control ice. You can freeze anything! Also, when you’re in water (NOT a mermaid) you control wind.”

The girls just sat there for about ten minutes. Charlotte finally said, “Well, what’d we do now?” Bloom just sat there. “AHEM! I asked you a question!” she yelled.

Bloom mumbled something. “What?!” Charlotte asked. She mumbled it again. “WHAT?!?” Charlotte yelled.

“This is the best day ever.” Bloom grinned. “This is the best day ever!” she repeated louder. “This is the best day ever!!!!” she yelled. “THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She screamed it out to the world. Charlotte stared at her. “Did I overdo it?” she asked. Charlotte nodded.

“Seriously. What do we do now?!” Charlotte said.

“Do you like ice rinks?” Bloom asked.

  “Why?” Charlotte asked suspiciously.

“Come here.” Bloom grabbed Charlotte’s hand and brought her to Thomas’s kiddie pool. She concentrated hard. Pink magic came out of her hands and froze the pool. “There you have it. It’s an ice rink!” Bloom giggled.
