  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  I’ve been married for over thirty years. My husband and I have two children, a daughter and a son. We have recently become grandparents for the first time to a beautiful granddaughter. I also have two high-strung Jack Russell terriers, Dexter and Dixie. I’m a dog person. Although cats are nice, they just think they’re better than humans and probably are.

  My husband was in the military, so we traveled around. I have lived in Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, and overseas in Germany. Since my husband retired, we returned to our hometown of Sacramento, California to live. The funny thing is that my father was also in the military, and my family traveled around when I was a child. I was always the new girl in school. But rather than turn into myself and become the shy, introverted one, I became the boisterous extrovert.

  I was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 30, 1962. I am one of four girls in my family. I am also the middle, middle. For anyone that doesn’t know what that means, I am the child that has two older sisters that reigned over me, and a baby sister that came seven years after me. She was the spoiled-rotten sister of my youth. She was also my own little baby doll. But because of the difference in ages, I was left to my own devices for entertainment many times. My imagination was developed at a very young age. I was the one that when punished to sit alone and think about my behavior, ended up playing with my fingers or pieces of fuzz. I would have a whole family and town of fuzz before my punishment was over.

  I like to travel. To date, I have been to the Caribbean, Mexico, Austria, and the Czech Republic. My family and I also have a Disney fascination. We have been to Disney World four times and to Disneyland once. Since the passing of my parents, my sisters and I have also tried to travel together from time to time. Since I’m a bit of a control freak, I’m usually the planner for these trips. If I had my way, I would rarely be at home. I want to see every place the world has to offer and then some.

  I’ve lived in Antelope, California for almost twenty years. Antelope is a bedroom community of Sacramento. I’m a retired substitute teacher devoting my time to writing fulltime. I achieved my BA degree at the age of forty-two. It was much later than many of my counterparts, but it was also a first in my family. Unfortunately, my parents were not alive to see that accomplishment.

  I like to write about plus-size or Rubenesque heroines. I am a big girl, and not ashamed of it. I write what I know. I want to show women that they can have the romance and erotic passion that may be written about a size six. All of my characters are also either in interracial relationships, or are multi or biracial themselves. I am a Black woman, but both of my parents were biracial. My mother was French and Black, while my father was Native American and Black. I don’t like to be pigeon-holed into writing only about one race because I’m Black. There are so many interesting nuances in society.
