Edwards Award, the first Michael L. Printz Award, the Alan Award, and the Virginia Hamilton Literary Award. 145th Street: Short Stories was a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor Book.
Walter Dean Myers grew up in New York City’s Harlem.
