“I can’t do this,” I finally say. Hurting Mark and Art is hard enough, but DJ and Fitz.
“Fine. I’ll pick for you.” Liam gets up.
I’m holding up my hands. “No. Just give me more time. I’m sure I can talk them out of this.”
“You don’t seem to be listening. The only way out is with three dead bodies and one in prison.”
“I said no.” I take a step towards Liam. I wasn’t strong enough to go up against him. But hurting DJ and Fitz, I couldn’t live with that.
“The moment you stepped into this room and told me, that was the moment the decision was already made for you. I am being kind giving you a choice of whom to save. For me it’s simple.”
I needed to warn them I couldn’t let this happen.
“So pick one Darragh.” Liam places the glass on the bar. “When I leave this room, the decision will no longer be yours.”
Clenching my fists I close my eyes. “Fitz. Don’t hurt Fitz.”
Liam doesn’t face me but nods. “I’ll take care of it,” he says before leaving.
I don’t have much time. I need to get DJ and Fitz out of this before it all goes south. I still had time to fix this. I will fix this.
