“Is that all you’re worried about? Timing?”
She had to scour her mind for the answer. “Yeah.” The waters calmed a little more, and tension eased from her body. “Yeah, I guess…” She pressed a hand to her forehead. “I guess my hormones…” She closed her eyes, shook her head, and let out a sound that she couldn’t identify as a laugh or a cry. “I’m just…”
“Overwhelmed.”
She dropped her hand. “Yeah.”
He kissed her. “I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere. We’ll get someone to come help out when I’m gone.” She pulled in a breath, but Wyatt cut her off with “Don’t even think about arguing.”
She exhaled instead.
“And when I’m home,” he said, his gaze intent and on hers, “I’m home, sugar. I’m right here. I’m all in.”
Hope sparked in the muddled malaise inside her. “Yeah?”
“Hell, yeah.”
“So, you’re happy about it?”
He exhaled, slid his arms around her in a bear hug, and lifted her off her feet. “No, sugar, I’m ecstatic.” He put her down and pulled back with so much awe filling his eyes. “Good God. A baby. This is fucking fantastic.”
His joy was infectious, pushing out all Gypsy’s fears. She melted against him and tilted her head back to press a kiss to his lips. “I love you so damn much.”
He stroked the back of his fingers down her cheek. “I love you more, sugar. I love you more.”
