“They need informing we have cabal threatening our democracy, because if we have a problem like this secret group trying to work towards some goal we don’t know about, then so do they. This isn’t just going to be a British threat. We know they have people in NATO and the UN, whether it’s homegrown, some kind of external manipulation by the Russians, Chinese or Koreans, we need their help.”
“Still not convinced.” He leaned into me for a moment. “You ready for the weekend?”
“You mean am I ready to attend my first gay wedding?” I chuckled. “Still can’t believe Luke and Sam are getting married.”
“It’ll be our turn one day.” Jacob looked up me at with those soft honey-colored eyes I couldn’t get enough of in or out of our bedroom.
“Let’s make it soon,” I said, and gave him a rare peck on his lips. We weren’t affectionate in the workplace.
“Is that a proposal, Sergeant Macalister?” Jacob asked me, his eyes bright.
“Could be.” The colour rushed up my face again because of my love for this man.
“We were supposed to wait for the perfect romantic moment.”
“What about tonight? At home, after we walk the puppies and I’m fucking you?” I whispered into his ear making him shiver.
“I could ask you while I’m fucking you...” he suggested.
I laughed. “I do like it when you’re in charge.”
He kissed my neck. “Then I’ll ask you while I’m deep inside and making you beg to be allowed to come.”
I groaned and my head hit his shoulder. “It’s going to be a long working day if you keep talking like that.”
Jacob’s chuckle warmed my heart. The future might be dangerous but we’d face it together.

A little about me, I live in a tumble down house in the Southern mountains of Spain with my husband who writes comedy. We have far too many dogs. I’m crap at social media but I try and I’m not good at sharing my life, mostly because I can’t believe anyone would be interested.
I love writing, it’s my grand passion and the only reason to get out of bed, well, that and the Belgium shepherd that lands on my head every morning. I love reading as well and if you follow my newsletter I’ll be posting about other authors I’ve fallen in love with. I crave stories, so films and TV are a huge part of my life.
I do all I can to support the LGBTQ community. It’s important to remember there are many people out there who are victimised for being gay or trans. Just because the law says it’s okay to be gay, doesn’t mean people don’t suffer – we must keep fighting! I’d bang on about all the countries where it’s still illegal or you face death for being gay but you guys know about this stuff.
On a lighter note, I also love walking the hounds and trying to keep them out of trouble. I love my swords, bows and pretending to be what I secretly (“Yeah right, it’s such a secret.” Husband rolls his eyes at me), want to be – a knight. I’m a hopeless romantic who would love to rescue the princess or the prince and doesn’t really care what gender she is as she’s doing the rescuing just so long as the bad guys put up a good fight.
