The rest of the morning passed in a flash. They found out that Harlow Duhon would be charged with attempted murder and several cases of burglary. “Oh, don’t worry.” Harley waved her hand. “You’ll have plenty of time to pay us back with baby showers, anniversary parties, and birthday shindigs.”
At her surprising come-back, they all laughed. “You got it,” Harper promised. “I look forward to a lifetime, not only with Revel, but with you.”
“One of these days, T-Rex will find a girl,” Savannah mused. “And you know what they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall.”
“Well, if that’s the case,” Dandi laughed, “when he hits the ground it’ll knock all the water out of the Atchafalaya Basin.”
Harper joined them in their joy. Looking from one to the other, she remembered how each had opened up to her, sharing the heartaches they’d been through. Each had survived, found someone to love and come through stronger than before. Even Skye, Noah’s fiancée had been kind enough to give her the gift of the knowledge of her hardship. If these exceptional women could be brave enough to grab happiness with both hands, so could she.

Revel couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Harper was truly a vision in white. Just like she’d said, the dress was perfect. That wasn’t all—so was she. The swells of the bridal march filled the church as she started down the aisle toward him on T’s arm. Lucy toddled in front of her, scattering petals all along the way. The smile on Revel’s face was as bright as the sun. How long had he dreamed of this moment?
