“Oh, the lies we tell ourselves to help us sleep at night.” Turning my eyes to hers, I leer at her, smirking as I feel the rational part of me slip away. “I’m going to enjoy watching Carina bathe in your blood.”
I’m not saying her words aren’t affecting me. They very much are—but not in the way she thinks. It took her sixty seconds to do what many people tried to accomplish for years.
She’s just stripped me of all fucking humanity, and I’m going to relish the blood I spill.
Narrowing my eyes, all the darkness I hold dormant rises to the surface. A sadistic smile unfurls over my lips as a calm washes through me, rinses me of any emotional morals I have left. I haven’t felt this feeling in so long, and the taste of it practically causes my taste buds to dance from the thought of how much blood is about to be slain.
If she wants to play, oh, we can play.
But if she expects me to stop when she cries uncle, she’s got the wrong motherfucker.
