'Just saw your new post. See you soon. Bring a mask.' He signed it C. My body tingles, and my heart pounds. I'm not even going to ask him how he got my number.

I dial Val's number, she answers after a few rings. "Hey girl, I haven't added anything to my list."

"You aren't going to believe this!" I exclaim, my excitement and nerves rolled into one very loud tone.

"You won the lottery." Her response is deadpan.

      "Maybe."

"Wait, what? Okay, tell me." Confusion and aggravation enter her tone, and I grin.

      "He just texted me."

"WHAT! Oh my God, what did he say?" She screams, and I hear Peter yelling 'What the fuck?" in the background. "Shut up, babe," she laughs. "Hold on, I'll go in the other room." I wait as I listen to her kiss her husband before she moves to the bedroom. "OK, tell me everything."

"He said, and I quote, 'Saw your new post. See you soon. Bring a mask.' He's coming to Venice. What do you think it means?" I spit out at her, talking as fast as a Yankee.

"It means you're about to get laid." She laughs.

"God, I hope so. Well, I gotta go. I need to go buy a mask and something to go with it. I'll let you know how it all turns out." I hang up with her yelling 'You better' at me. Venice is looking even better now. I look down at my phone and read his message again.

      'Okay, E.' Send. I smile.
