Your new gowns aren’t even ready yet.” He kissed her where they stood, bathed in sunlight. “But I’ve fallen in love with you. Not just in love. In everything with you. I’m in happiness. I’m in hopefulness. I’m in lust with you. Most of all, I awoke beside you and felt in peace for the first time in years.”
“Oh, James.” Her voice trembled as she spoke. “That’s a lovely thing to say.”
