“Almost is the key word,” Gabe said.
“We caught up with Josie Ralston. She took off for a few days, so she wasn’t around when Ulf Nachtmann got into her apartment. Since DeNali took up with her, I figure he had keys to her place. So Ulf got ’em from DeNali’s stash.” Logan flicked an invisible fleck from his suit lapel. “Doesn’t look like she did anything she can be held accountable for. And I don’t think she’s gonna be returning any of the law firm’s funds.”
“Once Simone gives a copy of the official report to the company that insured David, she and Drew will be set,” Gideon said.
“Besides, they have you now.”
Gideon grinned at Cass.
Blade opened a bottle of champagne—they always toasted their successes.
“To the next poor soul who needs us,” Gabe said, lifting his glass.
“Success!” they all chimed in.
A rock version of a Christmas tune blasted from the club. Gideon had been humming Christmas carols himself since decorating the tree with Simone and Drew. They were going to attend church together on Christmas Eve, and he was invited to Christmas dinner. It had been too many years since he’d been with family for the holidays.
In his mind, this was one red carpet Christmas.
