Final Chapter: A Megan Montaigne Mystery (Megan Montaigne Mysteries)

    Prev Next

An envelope lay on top of the books. Megan opened it and read the note Sylvie had written in her gently perfect handwriting:

“Dear Megan, Romy talked about how nice you’d been, letting her stay at the library. She mentioned how much you loved Nancy Drew. We think Romy would have wanted you to have these. Not for the library. For you. With gratitude, Sylvie and Wade.”

Reverently, Megan ran her fingers across the spines of these decades-old books. She sorted through the spines until she found one with the title, The Secret of the Old Clock. She took it back to her balcony, sat on her favorite chair, and began to read.

Also by Pam Stucky: Death at Glacier Lake (Buy Now on Kindle!)

A fast-paced, atmospheric whodunit that will keep you guessing until the end!

For two decades, the lush, isolated forests of the North Cascades have hidden a secret. Now, twenty years later, a mysterious contest has brought Mindy Harris back to the area she thought she’d left behind forever. A seemingly innocent creative design firm shows up for a company retreat, but all goes awry when one of their own turns up dead. Was it an accident? Murder? And how does the unsolved mystery from twenty years ago play into it all?

“A neat little mystery with the rare virtue that the setting and characters are as interesting as the unfolding story.”

“A reflective tone, with heart and insight into human frailty and strength, made this a very worthwhile read.”

      ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

My gratitude to Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center for generously taking the time to answer my questions about eagles and eagle habitat in the Skagit River area.

Thank you to Chuck Perry, Kenmore Air pilot, for not running away when I asked, “Can we talk about ways a person might die in an airplane?” and for telling me about the dead stop carbon monoxide detector. Chuck also has ideas for writing his own mysteries. Get writing, Chuck!

As always, I am beyond grateful for those willing to give time and energy to offer critique and commentary on early drafts. Thank you to Donna Hostick and Beth Stucky who gave much helpful feedback and encouragement.
