Chapter 1
1 Honeycomb toffee, sponge toffee, cinder toffee or hokey pokey is a sugary toffee with a light, rigid, sponge-like texture. Its main ingredients are typically brown sugar, corn syrup, molasses or golden syrup and baking soda, sometimes with an acid such as vinegar.
Chapter 2
1 A lasso (/ˈlæsoʊ/ or /læˈsuː/), also called lariat, riata, or reata, is a loop of rope designed as a restraint to be thrown around a target and tightened when pulled. It is a well-known tool of the Spanish and Mexican cowboy, then adopted by the United States cowboy. The word is also a verb; to lasso is to throw the loop of rope around something. Although the tool has several proper names, such terms are rarely employed by those who actually use it; nearly all United States cowboys simply call it a "rope," and the use of such "roping".

1 The compact body of the American Quarter Horse is well-suited for the intricate and quick maneuvers required in reining, cutting, working cow horse, barrel racing, calf roping, and other western riding events, especially those involving live cattle.
2 Stetson is a brand of hat manufactured by the John B. Stetson Company.
Founded in 1865, John B. Stetson Company began when John B. Stetson headed west and created the original hat of the pioneering American West, the “Boss of the Plains”. This Western hat would become the cornerstone of Stetson's hat business and is still in production today.
Chapter 7
1 Crèche or creche (from latin cripia "crib, cradle") may refer to: Childcare center, an organization of adults who take care of children in place of their parents. Preschool or nursery school.

1 The American Paint Horse is a breed of horse that combines both the conformational characteristics of a western stock horse with a pinto spotting pattern of white and dark coat colors. Developed from a base of spotted horses with Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred qualities.
Chapter 18
1 Cradle boards and other child carriers used by Native Americans are known by various names. In Algonquin history, the term "papoose" is sometimes used to refer to a child carrier. However there are many different terms among the 573 federally recognized tribes, nations, and communities.

About the Author
Olivia Swift loves writing cozy mysteries! Her stories are inspired by her varied interests…gardening, spirits, crystals and so much more. Of course, there must be a romance or two in her books and a happily ever-after ending!
Growing up in a small English village, Olivia is only too familiar with the various characters that make up a community. There is always an event, drama, or mystery amongst the village folk.
