A moment of hesitation crosses her face, and then she beams with a smile. “I’m here to make sure everyone is having fun. Are you having fun?”
I can’t help but grin back. There’s more to Alice than she’s saying, I know. And I can’t wait to figure it out. In the meantime, I’m having the best night of my life. “Yeah. I’m having fun.”
“Then I’m doing my job well. Come on!”
