Little Black Dress (Beech Grove Book 7)

Anytime I woke up before him and opened my eyes, the sight of him next to me in bed threw me for a loop and made me thank my lucky stars. Five years ago, destiny steered our paths in the same direction. We had both gone out looking for the same thing. One night.

Instead, luckily for us, we’d found a lifetime of them.

“Wanna dance?” he asked after enjoying his drink, and my mouth watered at the thought of kissing him. Enzo’s taste and tequila were my favorite things in the world.

I knew he could read my dirty thoughts with the way he was looking at me, shifting his body closer to mine, his hand on my chin raising my head up. “Please dance with me?” I laughed as he wagged his manly brows and bit my lip before shaking my head.

“No,” I said slightly breathily, taking in the sight of him. He was just as hot, if not hotter than five years ago. Sure, there was more pepper and salt in his dark hair and wrinkle lines by his eyes that had formed thanks to how much we laughed together. But every day that passed by made me fall deeper and harder in love.

Even when I didn’t particularly like him. Which happened.

He was a hot-headed Italian man, and I had a stubborn streak a mile wide. Life wasn’t perfect but pretty damn close. Even in those tougher moments, we became stronger as a couple.

“Take me somewhere quiet, Mr. Carlino.”

      “Already?”

“Yes.” I blushed and then laughed at how quickly we were both on the move.

Hunger and desire never left what we’d found five years ago. Five years ago had only been a fierce start to something so big and more beautiful than either of us could have imagined.

And I had to thank my little black dress.
