I placed my palm over the swell of my belly and tried not to experience the tremor of fear and anticipation that went through me.
Diarus seemed to sense how I felt as he stepped in and took my other hand. “This is a good thing, Tara. It’s incredible, in fact.”
I experienced such fear and hope and love and dreams for the child I hadn’t even met yet. A child that held so much possibility, not only for us as a family but for Tradrych as a planet.
Ewa smiled at me kindly. “Do you want to know what sex the baby is?”
Because of the other news, I’d completely forgotten.
“I think so.” I looked to the others, who all nodded in agreement. “Yes, we want to know,” I confirmed.
Ewa glanced back down at the notes, and then lifted her head with a smile.
“It’s a girl. The baby is a girl.”
