“He’s set up headquarters in Boston, using the warehouse Pierce occupied. It’s fitting since Victor had begun to convert Pierce’s followers into Bratva members. The space is already set up with living quarters.” Korbin leaned forward, placing his hands on his desk and centered his gaze on Sparks. “It’s secure, so he’d know if anyone tried to attack. Trust me when I say it’s worse than walking into the Washington D.C. Tigers territory.”
“Keith’s threat against us will continue to grow, and he’ll recruit more like Wolf to torture anyone he captures.” Sparks leaned forward. “We can’t sit by and do nothing.”
“For now, it’s all we can do,” Korbin reasoned. “I know you want justice for those he killed, more so for those he abused. We’ll get it, but we must be smart about it. Keith is an issue, but he’s not actively killing our kind. Lorcan is. Having the terrorist group Bratva here in America is a threat to all. In time we’ll have to handle it, even if it wasn’t Keith in charge. If you want to be part of the takedown group, I’ll arrange it, but in the meantime, you need to trust Ty and Tabitha are going to monitor the situation, and when the time comes, we’ll make our move.”
“Sitting around waiting is hard. It’s not who I am.” Sparks sucked in a deep breath and let it out before nodding. “Sorry, sir.”
“I get it. I want Keith eliminated just as bad as you do. You suffered under him and watched as others did. I know because as each member committed to me, I felt and saw it. It enrages my tiger to allow him to walk free while my people are left suffering from his actions.” A growl tinted Korbin’s voice as he spoke, allowing Sparks to realize how much it effected his Alpha.
“A fight for another day.” Sparks nodded.
“Today let’s join our mates for lunch, the rest of this shit can wait.” Korbin rose from behind his desk.
Nodding Sparks stood. Danger was all around them, and sometimes it seemed like it grew by the second, reminding him they needed to enjoy the peace, without worrying about what would happen next, even if it was only for a few minutes.
They’d face whatever was coming, but they couldn’t spread themselves too thin dealing with every threat against them. He didn’t like it, but he understood if they were going to be around for Tabitha’s future, they had to take things as they came. One fight at a time. That’s how we’ll survive.
