“Dusty, there’s somethin’ I’ve been wantin’ to ask you. Now seems as good a time as any.”
“What is it?”
“Your name. You said it was about your racin’, eat my dust, but I’ve always had the feelin’ there was somethin’ else.”
Her smile died away, and a slight frown crossed her brow.
“Do you wanna tell me? You don’t have to.”
“I’ve never told anyone,” she said quietly.
“Like I said, you don’t have to.”
“I think I do,” she nodded.
“You can tell me now, later, whenever you want.”
“I want to now,” she murmured looking at him. “Where do I start? Um, when I was about, I guess, fifteen, around the same time you saw me with that biker in the cafe, I was totally into the sixties. Back then I felt so, uh, ugly,” she said haltingly, “and when I’d look at the pictures of the girls from the sixties, I’d dream of being just like them. I loved their hair and makeup, everything. Anyway, there was a singer, her name was Dusty Springfield, and I absolutely loved her. When my braces finally came off and I didn’t have to wear those horrible glasses anymore, I felt as if I was starting to look, um, not so bad, and I decided to take her name. I thought it would help me feel better,” she admitted swallowing back the lump in her throat. “The, eat my dust thing, that was the excuse. Calling myself Dusty was all about me wanting to feel prettier,” she murmured, feeling the stray tears float down her face.
“Hey,” he purred hugging her tightly, “do you know what the prettiest part of you is?”
“N-no,” she sniffled.
“It’s not your hair, or your face, or your body. It’s your heart,” he whispered, “and you’ve always had that. Always. I saw it back then, the way you were with Jinx. Your heart rescued Licorice and took care of him. I’ll bet many people up in that neighborhood saw him wastin’ away in that paddock, but did they help him? No, it was you, Dusty, you that jumped in with both feet, because of your heart. It was your heart that touched me, darlin’, I promise you. I’ve dated many beautiful girls, but you’re the most beautiful of them all, and not because you’re a total knockout, which you are, but because of your heart.”
Dissolving into tears, Dusty curled up into him and let her years of insecurity stream out of her.
“I didn’t know what happiness was until you and I got together,” she said gazing up at him as the last of the tears dried up.
“You wanna know somethin’,” he said swallowing back his own rising emotion, “and I swear this is the truth…neither did I.”

What is it about a British Dominant? Maybe it's just the superior way this author depicts them. I loved this read. The series is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and had been waiting for Act Two.
This book is a novel in every sense of the word. It has in-depth characters and a story line that holds your attention. It has action, it has twists and turns, it keeps you guessing, and it has tons of romance, sex and spanking. Like the Billionaire series which got me 'hooked', it also has elements of BDSM, with a light touch, just enough to make you wish you were Bratty Brittany. (Or Beautiful Brittany, as he calls her when she's a good gir!!!l). Honestly, it doesn't get much better than this. Fabulous read. Thanks again Maggie

I absolutely loved this book!! I couldn't put it down—at all. It was intriguing to hear about relationships, and D/s in particular, from a Dom's point of view. I loved the various women and how he dealt with their needs, desires, brattiness, controlling, or defiant behaviors. The dialogue was hot and the spanking and sex scenes were breath taking. Maggie Carpenter hits a home run again, and hats off to James Collier for this sexy, hot book.

I always enjoy reading about Cassie and Chad, they're like old friends and of course we can't forget Mickey. I love how she had Chad's horse showing in this book and Cassie's jumping. This book was HOT, hotter than the other ones I think, lots of sex and great spankings of course. Chad really helped bring out more of Cassie's submissive side in this one. Also the finally get married in this one! which is bittersweet because it probably means this is the end of their adventure. It was a fun ride!

I've been a fan of this author for a while, and grabbed this as soon as I saw it. It's a bit of a departure, not because of the subject matter, or even because of the characters, the Dom is as charming and wicked as ever, and the damsel truly willful, but because the story is strictly focused on the two of them. I've always enjoyed the lesser characters in her other books, but I didn't miss any subplots or second stars. There was so much of the sexy stuff, and spanking they weren't necessary. Just one note - and I won't be a spoiler - initially I thought the characters got into things rather quickly, and I thought, hmmm, not sure about that, but don't be fooled. Ms Carpenter knows what she's doing.

This is another great book, one I enjoyed from start to finish, and I'm hoping there's more to come. You can never go wrong with a Maggie Carpenter book! They are all just great and this one was no exception! I did have a little trouble getting into this one…Michael and Beth didn't meet until around 40% on my Kindle and it took me about three days to get that far, but
man when they did, it picked up and so did I !!! I finished it in an hour or so! I would be sitting there reading and just smiling about the things they said to each and really feeling like you wanted to be her! It had more spankings after they meet than I thought it would. Even a friend of theirs met a guy and she got spanked. Loved the story, love Maggie Carpenter and it is a 5 star book!

Wow, this book is HOT. I loved the first one, and this one is HOT. There is a lot of sex and spanking, but I love how it all makes sense. All the sex and spankings flow with the story, and the chemistry between Chad and Cassie is dynamite. The other two characters, Marty and Hannah, really come into their own as well. I love Marty, he's like the big lumbering cowboy that can bear hug like no-one else, and you can really see him. I hope there's a Rules 3. (Hint, Hint). I'm thinking there might be the way this one ended. Great read. Truly great read.write a continuing story. A very happy read. Loved every page.

This book was everything I was hoping for. To have a cowboy be human was such a refreshing change, and it only enhanced his sexiness. Self-doubt plagues us all, and these bigger than life heroes are always perfect, never have worries or concerns about themselves. That's all well and good, and I enjoy their heroic personalities just as much as anyone, but to have a guy be so incredibly real - it was great. He's still strong, and steamy, and delivers spankings without hesitation, but he is plagued by his past. It's not that the woman saves him, though she kind of does, is that enough time has gone by that he is finally over the crap that happened to him. It's a great book, really great. Left me smiling and sighing.

This book made it clear to me why I like Maggie Carpenter novels so much. They're not just spanking books, or D/s books. They're novels with interesting, likable characters and really great plots and sub-plots, and all the steamy fun stuff is incorporated and it all makes sense. The spanking and BDSM scenes are not just added in for the sake of them, which is important to me. I enjoy that stuff (a lot!), but if there isn't a good story for them to rest in then the book just won't fly with me. So happy to see this sequel available so soon after the first British Billionaire Bachelor. Couldn't put it down! Read it in two sittings!

I'm reading a book by Maggie Carpenter because she writes the transition from sweet romance to D/s better than almost anyone else I know. She doesn't disappoint here: Belle (sweet submissive) and her sister Lucinda (brat) both go on D/s journeys with Simon (cultured billionaire) and Joseph (rough and tumble chauffeur) that provide plenty of hotness—especially (for my own taste) when Simon begins Belle's training. If you like young women under tables servicing the men they call "Sir," you'll love this book.
