“Got a perfectly good house,” Bobby muttered.

“Filled with your old life,” Mark shot back. “I’m thinking some place new for both of us. I’m still working in Lafayette, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. I’ve got tenure.”

“There’s lots of places between here and there,” Peter offered. “I think one of the pack ladies is in real estate, right, Bobby?” There was a wicked gleam in Peter’s eyes Mark didn’t miss.

“Yeah.” Bobby nodded, and Mark knew he’d hated to admit it.

“Good. You’ll make an appointment to meet with her?” Mark cocked his eyebrow at Bobby.

“Yep. First thing on Monday.” Bobby laughed. “God, I hate moving.”

“Hey, I did it,” Ted added. “Best thing I ever did. Cleaned out the apartment and came here. No job. No friends, other than Scott and Bobby. But now I’m doing great. You’ll settle in. You’ve got a ready-made family, standing right here.” Ted looked around at the men in their group. Most of the crowd had left, and only a few people remained.

Mark glanced around the group. “Yeah, looks like it. Hey, I don’t suppose there’s a gay bar around here?”

The group laughed. “Hell no! St. Jerome isn’t that up to speed. This town’s not ever going to be like New Orleans, but they aren’t haters either.”

“If anyone wants to get together for a few drinks, maybe dance, we usually just go to someone’s house,” Billy said. “Usually Scott’s. Ted’s got this awesome work space, and if we push the sofa and easels back, there’s a pretty nice-sized dance floor.”

Ted nodded. “And Scott’s rigged up a crazy sound system. All we’re missing is the disco ball.”

Again they all laughed. Then the group broke up, with Billy and Peter saying a last good-bye and a wave, leaving Bobby, Mark, Scott, and Ted.

“We’re outta here, Scott,” Bobby said.

“I think it went well,” Ted added.

“See you later.” Scott pulled Ted to him. “We’re locking up.”

Bobby and Mark said good-bye and left. As they walked to Bobby’s truck, Bobby slipped his arm around Mark’s shoulders and pulled him close.

“See? Told you, nothing to worry about.” He leaned in and nipped Mark’s ear.

“Hey!” Mark laughed. “I thought you said no PDAs.”

“At the meeting. Besides, I can’t keep my hands or my mouth off you for long.”

“Same here, wolf.” Mark grinned up at his lover. “Were you serious about the real-estate agent?”

“Yeah. From now on, it’s you and me. A fresh start, second chances, and all that other stuff.”

“I can’t wait to start our life together, Bobby.”

They reached the truck, and Bobby hit the locks. Mark opened the door, but leaned back toward his mate. “You know, I never would have said I’d be living my dream.”

“Dream?” Bobby opened the driver’s door and looked over at Mark as he slid in.

“To really be a part of a wolf pack. When I was a kid, just starting to study wolves, I wanted to live with them. Really get inside a pack and learn about what makes a pack work. That changed when my dad died.”

“And now you have.” Bobby chucked. “Gonna study us?”

“Study you. Intimately. In great, painstaking detail. Every inch of you, as a man and as a wolf.” Mark grinned. Bobby shut his door and plunged the cabin into darkness.

Bobby’s eyes glowed amber, and the air in the small space vibrated.

“You mean that? As a wolf too?” Bobby’s whiskey voice sent a shiver down Mark’s spine.

Mark smiled. “Let’s just say I’m curious about what that tongue of yours might feel like on my cock.”

Bobby growled low in his throat, and the sound rumbled, settling deep inside Mark, sending his dick to a full stand in seconds.

“Let’s just try that right now,” Bobby whispered.

“Now?” Mark swallowed and spread his legs. He was so hard he humped air, and it felt good. Bobby’s wolf’s tongue on his dick?

“Now.” Determination flared in the depths of that golden liquid gaze.

The air shimmered. Mark closed his eyes and then opened them.

A wolf sat behind the wheel of the truck.

“Oh, my God.” Mark couldn’t unzip his jeans fast enough.
