He paced his elaborate study decorated in marble and leather and cherry wood and rare books. He had everything in the world except what he wanted most.
He paced and he drank expensive whiskey and he cursed and lived his dark secret. The secret no one could ever know. The secret only the White Star could cure.
He had to have the amulet.
Time was running out.
Something had to be done. He would get her, no matter what the cost, and if anyone got in his way, he would kill them.
