We’re not engaged or married yet, even though I know both sets of our parents are eagerly waiting for it. Cliff and I talk about it regularly. About when the right time might be. But I know when we finally do sit down and decide, we’ll do it together. It might not be romantic, but for us, it makes sense. It’s how we work. We make our decisions together—as many as we can, and certainly the major ones. Or maybe he’ll surprise me and do something crazy romantic and catch me completely off guard. And of course, I’ll say yes because I’ve known, pretty much from the fake date, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I honestly think he’s just waiting for the house to be finished because we both know we want to have our wedding in the barn. Yea, it’s special. For obvious reasons.
“Well, I guess maybe I had a small hand in it,” Cliff says, and I refocus on his beautiful face.
“Just a little,” I laugh.
“Just the smallest amount.”
“The teeniest.”
“The most minuscule bit.”
“Since we now already have that determined, why don’t you show me just how happy you are that we’re done boxing everything up, and we have the rest of the afternoon free?”
“Would you like me to applaud? Would that prove my happiness?”
“Would you be open to it if I gave it to you with my mouth?”
“Oh?” I giggle. “I didn’t think any such thing was possible.”
“You clearly have no idea how talented my mouth is then.”
“Why don’t you show me?”
Cliff guides my face to his, and he does indeed show me. I thought kissing the same person for years would get boring, or that I’d lose interest, but I guess I had no real notion of what life with Cliff would be like because his kisses are still just as exciting and amazing now as they were the first time.
He kisses me thoroughly until I’m entirely breathless before he pulls away. “I love you, Rowan Mills. You know that, don’t you?”
“Yes,” I whisper, so happy that I can barely get any air out at all. “I certainly do. And I love you, Cliff Marshall.”
“Yes.” I tug him back to me. “I certainly would.”
The End
HOT NEW NEIGHBOR
I caught my hot new neighbor in his birthday suit...while trying to break into his house.
I was definitely not planning on getting caught.
Nor lay eyes on his hella huge junk.
And I know I have some serious explaining to do.
