In this room, surrounded by both sets of parents, lovers and friends, I knew there was no other choice but to protect the love we all shared. That meant Devina had to die. It would be hard and take so much power, because all of us combined didn’t come close to her level. But we would do it because we had more reasons to win.
Three of my reasons pressed close to me. Felix took my left hand, Mac took my right and Jason slid his arms around my waist from behind. None of them would stop touching me as they started to bounce around ideas with Azrael and Raguel on how to bring Devina down.
There would be no joy in existing without these three that had marked me so completely with their love. We would stand together and fight for it.
