“I had nothing to do with that. I’m not part of Terminal.”
“Of course.” Kiran laughed. “That’s the point.”
Rex glanced over at me, eyes wide, face contorted with emotion.
“What is he saying?” Tunde whispered.
I shook my head, confused.
Rex took the BlackBerry from my hand and held it up so that Kiran could see his face. “Tell me you didn’t set me up.”
Kiran smirked. “How badly do you want to win, Rex?”
“This isn’t a game anymore, Kiran.”
“No, that’s where you’re wrong. I already told you, Rex, you only need a push. So consider this the biggest push you’ll ever get, my gift to you. I made sure to alert the authorities that you’re on the run. They’ll be stopping the train you’re on at the very next station. The helicopters, as they say, are already hovering. I look forward to your next move. Oh, and thanks for WALKABOUT. It’ll come in handy for sure.”
The line went dead. The image vanished.
We sat in stunned silence as the train began to slow.
The conductor came on the overhead. “Ladies and gentlemen, as you may have noticed, we’re slowing down to make an unscheduled stop at the next station. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we’ll attempt to make up the time once we’re on the move again. We appreciate your patience and will be on our way again shortly.”
Rex, Tunde, and I turned toward the nearest window and watched as the train slowed into a station. Police officers lined the station platform.
Rex glanced around the interior of the train, eyes narrowed, clearly looking for something in particular. “Cameras are eyes … microphones are ears…”
“What do you mean?” I asked him, panicked now.
Rex turned to me. “You ready?”
“Ready for what?”
“Yes,” Tunde said, his voice trembling. “What?”
Rex stood up and reached out for my hand.
“To run.”

Start: Cell phone footage of an unknown person walking down a city street (analysis suggests Brooklyn, New York, though the image is closely cropped) toward a nondescript apartment building. There are no building numbers or street signs visible. The cell camera operator approaches the building and presses the buzzer. The buzzer is pressed twice before the door unlocks and the cell camera operator enters the building. The individual with the cell phone camera takes three flights of stairs before stopping at the first apartment on the left. He (analysis suggests the subject is a male, young, possibly a teenager) knocks on the door. Location analysis identifies this apartment as possibly belonging to a TEO HUERTA (age 18–19, California missing persons case file CA53716B). The door is opened. Just before the video cuts out, the words “I knew we’d find him.…” can be heard.
