“No more, love. I need you, too. I can’t even imagine a life without you.” Amazed that such a strong man could be so vulnerable with her, she ran her fingers through his hair again, tears burning her eyes.
“No more.” Lifting his head, he stared into her eyes, his own glittering with emotion. “I need you safe. Here. Mine.”
“I am, my mate. I’m safe. I’m here, and I’ll always be yours.”
She couldn’t imagine a better life, or love, than she’d found in the arms of the man who’d taken her from her home and shown her a world she could never even have dreamed, and a home she’d never dared imagine.
