He said, “Well, Steve, you made the locate. How do you like working on the outside?”
Linda answered for me.
“He’s better behind a desk, Abe. He fights too much—he’s too emotional for the street.”
“He’ll cool down,” Abe said. “He needs a bit of peace and quiet now.”
“That can be arranged,” Linda said.
“Arrange it,” said Abe, and winked at us and doffed his derby on the way out.
