TWENTY-SOMETHING BOOKS in, I really should be better at this. I’m never really quite sure what to write at this point. I mean, does anyone even read this far? But just in case you do, and you are reading this, I wanted to tell you a quick story.
Four years ago, I started writing a book. I never intended on publishing it or sharing it with the world, but I did it. I put my words, my heart, out there. And it was scary (it still is). And more than anything, I had no idea of what to expect...
I didn’t expect to be here, twenty-two (I think) books later, writing full-time. Like all authors, I’ve had ups and I’ve had downs, but until Wicked Beginnings things had just kind of ticked along. I’d released books I thought would hit all those magical formulas for success ... and watched them bomb. But each time, I dusted myself off and set to work on the next project.
Wicked Beginnings wasn’t exactly make or break for me. I will always write. It’s not something I’ll ever be able to switch off. But it was the first time I threw in all my chips in hopes of moving to the next level of my author career. And three books into this series it feels apt to thank you, my readers. Put simply, Wicked Bay has changed my life. The reception and support I’ve had for this series has exceeded my wildest dreams and I am more grateful than you will ever know. It opened the door to landing an agent for my subsidary rights (audio and foreign) and has secured an deal with Audible to have the first two books in the series turned into audiobooks, and hopefully the future books.
I hope you enjoyed Kyle and Laurie’s story and I hope I keep writing the kinds of books you want to read.
