Prologue
Troy, New York
The sound of bikes roared into the lot.
Yuri turned at the sound from where he and Nikoli stood talking next to their SUV.
Two men rode in with a two man escort it looked like. Yuri knew that one of these men had the same issue he did. Whatever else he and this man had in common, he didn’t know and even Nicky, Nikoli’s son who was the best in the IT biz, couldn’t find the connection. But there was one, of this he was sure.
Events of the last two weeks had proven this.
Hence, the reason Yuri and Nikoli were meeting with these men.
The men powered their cycles down.
Yuri took a good look at the pair. You could tell the difference between them and their two escorts. Both men looked like they were used to leading men. The younger one, he knew was Deke, the president of his MC. The other man was his father known as Bones. Yuri raised a brow at this name but he could see the man was rather large and he could crush a bone or two.
The group of them kicked their stands and got off their bikes.
The two men looked at Yuri then Nikoli as they stepped forward.
Their escorts dismounted their bikes and looked around, scanning the lot.
Yeah, their men were good at what they did, as Kosta was still doing the same thing from closer to the building. Also, Nikoli’s man, Kosta’s brother, Kirill was off to the left side of the building checking things along the tree line.
Yes, they all had men looking for whatever boogeyman had brought them here today, in this lot...In Troy, New York.
Deke made his way over and stopped in front of Yuri. His keen eyes like steel. “Deke Tory,” he stated.
Yuri put his hand out. “Yuri Anatoly.”
There were no questions to this greeting. They both knew who the other was. Which was odd in a way, as they had never met.
Nikoli stepped forward and stuck his hand out.
Nodding, Deke now shook his hand then motioned to the man next to him. “Sam Tory, my father.”
Sam nodded and shook their hands. “So what the fuck are we going to do about this?”
Yuri blinked at him.
Nikoli chuckled.
Deke shook his head. “Never mind him. He has never learned any manners that we know of.”
They all chuckled even though the tension had been thick.
Yuri then looked around. “We have a plan as we told you already. We hope to flush this asshole out.”
Sam-Bones nodded as he growled. “Deke was almost ki—”
“Dad,” Deke cut him off. “They know.”
“Well damn, it fucking pisses me off. This looking over our god dammed shoulders.”
Nikoli agreed, “We feel the same way. We have to protect our families and our men.”
“Damn right.” Sam nodded.
“That is why we are here,” Yuri told him as he caught sight of Kosta who was telling him by signal that it might not be safe out here.
Kirill whistled. Alerting them to the same conclusion.
It wasn’t safe out here.
The two men from the cycles took out their weapons.
Deke and Sam did the same.
A tense thickness permeated the very air around all the men.
They all now had their weapons out.
Nikoli nodded at Kirill...then looked over at the two bikers. “We’d better go inside.”
“Yeah, we’d better,” Bones grumbled, his gun out.
Deke nodded as he spanned his gaze around. “Yep.”
Yuri knew that Deke also felt eyes on them. He had too. In fact, he’d had this feeling for a while now. Not just today but for the last 14 days. Starting with the day someone took a shot at him. A professional sniper shot. The sniper only missed as Yuri had dropped his keys and bent over to get them. If not for that one slip of the keys, he wouldn’t be here today.
Deke had the same issue as someone tampered with his bike and he had some cracked ribs and a now fading bruise on his chin to show for it.
There had been more attempts and even when one of the assailants had been caught, he damn well swallowed a cyanide pill before they could get a word out of him.
Someone wanted them both dead.
Both Yuri and Deke.
Kosta opened the double door as Kirill assisted him.
Deke owned the building and they had all agreed to meet here. It was away from the main compound as Deke had said in a text that he did not wish to compromise his family by meeting at his club.
Yuri couldn’t blame the man. If Raven, Dominic or Caitlyn got hurt because someone was gunning for him, he would never get over it.
Then men, including their guards all headed in for this odd meeting of two groups who’d never crossed paths as far as they each knew.
It was time to battle this invisible monster...fiend who wanted to end their very existences.
Kirill and Kosta waited until they all went through. Then they each gazed around for a few seconds and closed the double doors.
Two minutes went by as they all navigated through to the back.
Then a huge BOOM sounded as the rafters above them swung then cracked.
The building nearly imploded as metal and glass scattered everywhere. The noise was so overwhelming that Yuri couldn’t hear anything else. Smoke then obscured Yuri’s vision as the brightness of the explosion came toward him.
Chapter One
One week ago...
Zipper at been at this for hours. All he’d had to go on was a fuzzy image of the man who’d apparently jimmied Deke’s bike when he’d parked it at Walmart of all places. Who would do something like that with all the cameras and security that place had?
The man did though and Zipper had figured out why in the first minute of the footage he illegally got from the video system that company had.
Baseball cap, sunglasses, large jacket. A grainy image as he moved to the engine and did some removing and rearranging.
That little makeover nearly cost Deke his life.
A half hour later on the video, there Deke was taking off from the lot.
Then they all got a call from the hospital that day.
Cassie was fit to be tied as she and Peaches tore out of the compound. Gator and Iceman escorted them. None of the Sin’s women went anywhere without an escort. Club rules for life. No matter what the errand... was. 2 men went with... for always. Deke had created the rule and man, any of them would get a thorough cussing when that rule was broken. Well, maybe not Peaches as Iceman would do that.
Zipper smirked. The women here though had minds of their own and often it was amusing for Zipper to see them stand up to their men. Men who were 3 times their size. Especially Cassie.
He was here the day she arrived. In fact, he had been in Deke’s office in the corner cubby working on the PC that handled all the strip club’s accounting and invoices.
Zipper remembered this event because it was just too hard to believe. Still, to this day, it wasn’t forgotten. It was how Cassie had earned the name Spitfire.
A knock came on the door and when Deke called out, Wiley opened it and motioned for her to go inside.
Zipper was in his so called cubby. The desk had a high front so he wouldn’t have to be disturbed, as he didn’t care about the comings and goings here. Yeah, the strippers were nice to look at but they never came in here much.
Deke glanced up at his man who stood nervously and looked stunned to see the bruises on his face. “What the fuck happened to you?”
Wiley raised his eyebrow and motioned toward the woman standing next to him.
Deke turned and appeared to be surprised to see her glaring back at him.
“You know, if you want someone’s attention, it behooves you to be polite about it. Instead of ordering your muscle men to fetch me, you could have asked nicely.”
Deke looked shocked. Like he couldn’t for the life of him find the words he wanted to blast her with.
His men looked just as stunned as they gasped at her statement.
Zipper raised his brows and leaned around to see who this amazon woman was that could take Wiley down. He, in fact, didn’t believe it for a fucking second. He caught sight of Wiley’s busted nose and lips.
