The mall crawl is easier when the kids have a place to bounce and jump and yell to their heart’s content. Ansal Plaza
The play station at Funkie Orbits in Ansal Plaza is a 2-storey area of big plastic pipes that a child can crawl through eventually sliding down into a pit filled with Styrofoam coloured balls. It is advertised as an area for children from 2–14 years of age. However, this play area could be dangerous for children below 6 years. To start with, a 2–3 year old cannot crawl up this structure on his own and if he gets stuck anywhere, he will not only be extremely scared, but may also tend to suffer from claustrophobia in later life. Further, though the station advertises the presence of ‘park rangers’ in case of difficulties, only 2 were present, both of whom were more concerned about whether we had paid the entry fee of Rs 150 rather than the safety of the children. Take your kids there only if they are 8 and above or if there are older children in the family to look after the younger ones.

Children’s Park
Located near India Gate, the Children’s Park has a lot of well-maintained swings and other playground equipment that will allow kids to be just kids as you drag them from the museums to forts. Only adults with kids are allowed into the park and there is a guard at the gate, though it is not strictly enforced. It is best to go during the day as it gets very crowded in the evenings and on weekends.

Garden of Five Senses
More than just a park, the Garden of Five Senses was set up to stimulate all senses. In addition to being a great picnic spot, kids can take a solar car/train and other interesting rides all powered by solar energy. Elephant and camel rides are also offered here. Indira Gandhi International Airport
The children’s play area in domestic terminal 1A of Indira Gandhi International Airport will help pass the time during a flight delay. With climbing structures, swings, a variety of games, balls and other play equipment, kids will be reluctant to get on the plane. Travel related themes are on the flooring and rugs. The play area also has soft toys, baby cots and high chairs and even a diaper changing area.
