He traced every inch of my face with his adoring gaze before he answered. “On one condition, Sunshine Meadows.”
“What’s that?”
“You agree to have my babies, Tink.”
Tears sprang to my eyes, and my heart cracked wide open at the lengths this man would go to for me to be happy. “Mitch, you don’t have to do that.”
“Actually, I do.” He brushed away my tears with his thumb. “You see when I thought I lost you, I realized something, too. I don’t want to miss out on any part of you. I might be scared to death, and overprotective, and drive you nuts as a father,” he inhaled a deep breath, “but I can promise I will always be there and try my best.”
“So, is that a yes?” I asked.
“Yes, Tink, I would love nothing more than to make you my wife.”
I threw myself across the console until I landed in his lap and kissed his whole face.
“What are you doing?” he said on a chuckle between kisses.
I pulled away just enough to respond, “Working on that condition.” Then I kissed him with every bit of love in my heart, not needing a horoscope to know our future looked brighter than ever.
