Stateway's Garden

  Hopefully.

This book is dedicated to Albrey K. and “Big Kat” Bradley and my exhorter Linda “Aunt Cherry” L.

I’m truly and sempiternally indebted to you for helping me adjust the mirror.

  ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Thank you to my extraordinary team in the business: Emma Caruso, Arbree Lemon, Soumeya Bendimerad-Roberts, and definitely my homie Andrea Walker.

The acquisition of this book by Random House occurred during one of the most discouraging and difficult times of my life, and ironically, working on it through the various stages of publication was what actually provided my only opportunities of distraction and maybe even respite from those difficulties. You guys somehow helped to remove some of the clouds I had, and made this process warm and, within that, forced my attempt at valuing it all again.

I won’t forget your energy and kindness and encouragement and unwavering belief.
