Mum squeezed Dad’s hand and kissed Dale on the cheek. ‘We’re very proud. How did we end up with a son like you?’

  Dale blushed. ‘Can we go home?’

  ‘We sure can,’ Mum said. She opened the back door of the car, like a chauffeur. ‘After you, Mr Sharpe.’

  Dale bowed and clambered into the car.
