Tap: Tap dancing is unique because the dancer uses shoes with metal plates on the soles to create rhythm and percussion. Tap dancing can be traced back to Ireland, England, and West Africa. There are two main kinds of tap dancing today—jazz tap and Broadway tap (the kind popular in movies and shows).
