Madison matched him stroke for stroke, as if their bodies were in perfect sync. She loved the connection they shared, the way each could anticipate the other’s need. As awful as her attempted kidnapping had been, she was glad Rob had entered her life. She was also overjoyed to help him bring Colm back to his family. Seeing them on the beach as they witnessed the ceremony had been the perfect end to the whole saga. Colm could now shift at will and not get stuck.
Rob lowered his head and sucked her nipple into his mouth, his tongue swirling around the taut bud, pushing all thoughts of anything other than her mate from her mind. Madison curled her fingers into his hair and cradled his head in her arms as her orgasm rushed toward her.
Her mate tensed and jerked into her as he came. Lifting his head from her breast, he kissed her mouth, his tongue entwined with hers. His seed filled her as he impaled her on his hardened length. Sliding one hand beneath their bodies, he cupped her bottom in his large warm hand and tilted her body, pushing deeper and harder.
Madison clawed at his skin, her senses heightened, her flesh on fire as her love for him burned bright and true. Then she came. Earth-shattering, a wave of intense emotion swept over her and she cried out his name. They were joined as one, two mates who were meant to be together forever. She wouldn’t have cared if they hadn’t married, the bond between them was stronger than any ceremony or certificate, but she adored being Rob’s wife.
Just as she adored Rob.
“What are you thinking?” Rob asked as they lay sated in each other’s arms.
“About my mom.”
He gave a deep chuckle. “We are lying in our wedding bed after making incredible love and you are thinking about your mother?”
She half turned toward him and stroked her hand over his hair, which Rob had let grow a little longer. “I was thinking of all the years she wasted not being with Joe.”
“She probably doesn’t see them as wasted.” He kissed her lips. “It was the road they took, and they reached their happy ever after.”
“But isn’t it the journey that’s important, not the destination?” Madison asked softly as she looked into his ice-cool eyes and saw the flames of desire burning for her. “I can’t imagine making this journey without you.”
“But he was there. By her side.” He pulled her close. “They are happy.”
“And dwelling on the past doesn’t change it.” She sighed and snuggled closer to him. “I’m just glad we aren’t flirting around the edges of our love. I’m incredibly happy we found each other and there were no obstacles in our way.”
“And I will be grateful for that and for you for the rest of my life.” He rolled over and threaded his body between her thighs. “Want to see how grateful I am?”
“I’d rather feel how grateful you are.” She closed her eyes as he kissed her lips. He was right, the past was the past and it was time to celebrate their future together.
A long and happy future. Filled with love and children. But not just yet. For now, she wanted to change the world in her own unique way.
