“I bet we won’t be the only couple celebrating either. I have a feeling that the future is going to hold only the very best for the Delaneys.”
“I think you’re right.” Cara leaned her head against Burke’s shoulder and thought of Killara.
Her life had come full circle. It had started on Killara and it would end here too. Killara’s future would be her future. There would be children—hers and Burke’s, perhaps Rafe’s and York’s too—to grow up strong and free. There would be much laughter and maybe a few tears. But always there would be love.
Looking toward the sun, she saw that the great fiery ball had almost disappeared. Now, though, she knew it would be back tomorrow. Secure in the knowledge of Burke’s love, she was convinced that her moments in the sun were going to last for a lifetime.
