Maveryck and Kyllian came into the kitchen, arguing. Mav shoved their younger brother. “Forget it. The last time I let you talk me into a bet, I came home with my—” As soon as Mav noticed the females, he shut up.
Kyllian laughed, and Maveryck’s face turned red. There wasn’t much that embarrassed his twin, so War really wanted to know what he was about to say. “Come on, Kyllian. I’ll take you on,” Ryker said from behind them.
Kyllian narrowed his eyes at their older brother, but then he smiled and wrapped his arm around Ryker’s shoulders. “You got it, Ry. So, what are we going to bet? Mav’s a fan of piercings.”
“I’m gonna kill him and tell Rory he ran away,” Mav muttered as he grabbed the pitcher of margaritas and took off with the whole batch.
“Uncle Mav, you bring that back here,” Lucy yelled as she took off after him. Tamian rolled his eyes and got up to follow them, leaving War and Kerrigan alone.
“So, welcome to the family.” War pulled her into his arms and pressed their lips together. “Ready to run yet?”
“Are you kidding? After being raised an only child, this is heaven.”
War kissed her more deeply this time. Catcalls came from the next room, and he broke the kiss, smiling against her lips. “You sure are, Sweetheart.”

Thank you for reading Waging War. I really hope you enjoyed this first book in my new MC series. Starting a series is always exciting, but it’s also daunting. You have to build the world and introduce the characters, giving insight to what’s brought them to this point as well as what’s to come without overwhelming the reader. I hope I have achieved this. Maveryck’s story is next, and boy is it a doozy. I almost wrote it first, but the world-building needed to happen in War’s book. With Maveryck, you’ll get more of the mercenary side of the Hounds, as well as more of the bikers. If you enjoyed War and Kerrigan, I hope you’ll leave a review wherever you purchased the book.
