      Asonthetrain,mengotoutofthewaysoshecouldgetontotheelevator.

      Theoperatoraskedherverysweetlywhichfloorshewanted.“Allthewaytothe top,”shesaidwithasmilethatinturnmadethemenaroundhersmile.

      ItturnedoutthepenthousewasnottheactualfloorforTaiCorp’smain offices,butonlyforMr.Lecau’soffice.Therewasonlyashorthallwaythatled intoalargeroomwithfourdesks.Threeofthosedeskswereoccupiedbyother youngwomen.Theylookedupather,onlyoneofthemsmilingather.

      Thefriendlygirlrosefromherstationandextendedahand.“Hi!I’m Sheri!YoumustbeKari.”

      Sheritossedherlongbrownhairoveroneshoulderassheturnedtoanother youngwomanwithblackhairandasourexpression.“That’smybigsisterTeri.

      Terimetherglareforamoment,butfinallynodded.“Yeah,Igotit.”She snatchedthepaperoffherdeskandthenstoodup.“Youjustbetterwatch yourself,bitch,”shehissedintoKari’searbeforegoingtotheelevator.
