About this Book
World Enough (And Time) was produced almost entirely using open-source software.
The manuscript was written using the Emacs text editor1, primarily employing org mode2 and markdown mode3.
Pandoc4 drove the conversion to e-book formats, with some custom filters written in Python5 and the pandoc-filters library6.
The printed edition was produced with Pandoc and LaTeX7, using some custom scripts in the GNU version of Awk8.
All the above was orchestrated with the venerable GNU Make9.
I am deeply indebted to the men and women who develop, maintain, and document all this excellent software and make it freely available for general use.
