“About what now?”
“My friends. Starting a family.” Sliding an arm around her waist, I pull her to a stop, bringing her close for a soft kiss. “You.” I have to blink away tears, and when I finally manage to speak again, it’s choked and hoarse. “I’m not alone.”
“No, darling,” she agrees softly. “You’re not. I’m here, and you’ll never be alone.”
