In the kitchen, I find Mara-Lee and Finley already in there making breakfast. Both women stare at me with shit-eating grins.
“Have a good night?” Finley snickers from where she’s cooking bacon. The damn woman is on a bacon kick right now, thanks to her pregnancy.
“It’s a good thing we have a large home.” Mara-Lee giggles, pouring coffee. “Is she still asleep?”
“Yeah, I wanted to get breakfast prepped before she wakes up,” I say, not giving a damn if they think I’m a pussy for wanting to give Arwen something special.
“That’s sweet.” Finley grins and plates some of the bacon. “Take the pancakes and some of this bacon. I’ll make more.”
“I can do it myself,” I grumble, crossing my arms and lean against the counter as Mara-Lee places two mugs of coffee in front of me.
“We know you can, but, Cedric, your breakfast sucks. You can make her dinner tonight instead,” Finley announces, bringing the plates to set next to the coffee.
“What the hell? You two like when I cook.” I grunt, giving both of them a frown.
“Yeah, we do. We love the dinners you make. We hate your breakfast,” Mara-Lee says, bringing a tray over to the counter.
Well fuck.
Finley and Mara-Lee are full of themselves this morning.
Rolling my eyes, I set everything on the tray and leave the two of them as they continue to smirk at me. Whatever.
Heading back into my room, I silently chuckle at the sight of my woman still sound asleep. Creeping over to the bed, I set the tray on the nightstand. I climb up on the bed next to Arwen and lean in to press a kiss to her temple.
“Morning, cuore mio,” I rasp in her ear.
“Mhmm, sleep,” she whispers, burrowing her head into the pillow.
“Wake up, baby, I’ve got breakfast,” I murmur, gliding my fingers over her bare skin tenderly. “How are you feeling this morning?”
Arwen rolls to her back and blinks as she looks at me with a smile.
Fuck, she’s beautiful.
“I don’t think I’ve ever slept so peacefully,” she utters, making me grin.
“Good, because I’m thinking the two of us are staying in this room again today. I don’t think I’ve quite had my fill.” I chuckle. Arwen giggles as she sits up and pulls the sheet up with her shielding my view of her beautiful tits. “Seriously though, cuore mio, how are you feeling?”
“I’m okay. Really, I couldn’t be better,” she says, smiling brightly.
“Good, because I intend to keep making you feel better with each and every day we have together,” I declare, leaning in to capture her mouth in a chaste kiss. “Now, let’s eat before I decide to feast on you instead.”
“Oh, um.” Arwen cheeks start to brighten as she blushes
“Fuckin’ cute when you do that.” I chuckle, sitting back up and twisting to grab the tray, setting it in front of us.
“This looks great,” she says, licking her lips as she eyes the delicious food. Okay, so maybe Finley and Mara-Lee are right, I suck at breakfast foods and that’s why they always do breakfast.
“I know you said you don’t wanna talk about what you’ve been through, but can you answer something for me?” I cautiously ask.
Arwen visibly swallows as she loses her smile. “What?”
“Is it safe if we speak to Danti?”
“My brothers are the only ones who never hurt me. They tried to protect me the best they could, but my uncle Stefano started going around them to get to me when I did something wrong. My father could care less if it didn’t have anything to do with his business. It’s why he allowed my mother to get hooked on drugs.”
Now it makes sense why Danti and Amer approached us with an alliance for when Danti takes the seat. He intends to knock them all out of their positions.
Nodding, I reach out and palm Arwen’s cheek. “I’m going to need you to trust me, cuore mio. Can you do that for me?”
“Yes.” She doesn’t even blink when she answers.
Arwen’s given me her trust in so many ways, and I won’t break it. Not in a million years.
“Then trust me, baby, with what I’ve gotta do next.”
“You’re gonna call my brother, aren’t you?” she asks, leaning away from me and picking up the tray on the nightstand once again.
“Yeah, I’m going to need him to know I’ve got you so he can keep his head in the game for what he’s got planned on his own. Just remember, Arwen, you’re mine now, and I’m not gonna let anyone take you away. We have too much passion, and I’m not about to lose the ecstasy that burns bright between us,” I murmur.
Arwen smiles and moves, pressing her palms against my chest pushing me to my back. “Then can we keep burning bright now?” she asks.
Oh, fuck, if I ain’t about to say no to that. I’ll enjoy giving into her as much as she allows me to.

Yes, I’ll do this without bringing anyone else into it. Even if I have to toy with Cedric’s emotions to get what I want. I will.
Arwen won’t have what’s mine. He’s always been meant for me. The deal was made long ago, and I refuse to let some slut who belongs to another steal Cedric from me.
Guess you can say, I don’t play well with others. Arwen’s rapture will soon come to an end, and I’ll be the one feeling Cedric’s ecstasy as he pleasures me and only me.

Over time I got used to being on my own. Better yet, it was easier. I didn’t need anyone in my life. Hell, it was safer to be on my own. No one else would get hurt this way.
Then I saw her. Sure, I shrugged her off at first, but she didn’t give up on me. As much as I pushed her away, she kept finding ways to tell me I was worthy of love. But as things heated up between us, danger came knocking on my door, and then I couldn’t find her.

It was months ago, and I’m still seeking revenge for Emery. I don’t know why I am in the first place. She’s arrogant, sassy, and always thinks she’s right. Everything about her aggravates me, even the fact she’s doing a job I think only men should.
Yet, why the hell do I even give a damn about her?
I’m still trying to figure out the answer, but I know I want her, even if I can’t stand her. Watching her blood spill on the ground was unlike any other shooting I’ve witnessed.
I’ll find the people responsible for this, one way or another.
