“Danielle Renee, I love you with everything I have and more. I will love you until the last breath leaves my body and I never want to be without you. Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” He opens the box revealing a large cushion cut halo engagement ring.
“Oh my God, Zach.” He looks up at me with love and hope in his eyes. “Yes, yes. I love you, too.” He stands up, wrapping his arms around me and swinging me around. He sets me down and kisses me breathless.
“We need to find someone to do our house plans, set a date for the wedding, sell my house…” he rambles, and I place a finger on his lips to shush him.
“Breathe, Zach. We’ll take it one day at a time. We have the rest of our lives.”
Meanwhile, across town…
“You’re pregnant. From the level of hormones in your blood, I’d say a little over two months.”
The blood pounds in my ears drowning out the rest of his words. My vision darkens and the last thing I see is him reaching for me as the world goes black.
