He proceeded to prove her very wrong, after having applied more than adequate correction to her poor behind while her feet danced in place.
Jayne was annoyed that she could move all her limbs, but she couldn't seem to avoid even one sharp, stinging smack!! And the longer the spanking continued, the worse it got.

"It's th-the S-state P-police," she answered, and the sound of her voice brought him running to her side.
"Can I help you, Officer?"
"Mrs. Otis, I regret to inform you that your husband, Jacob Tallent Otis, died this morning in a car crash, just outside of Glendo. His car was totaled, and he died on impact."
"Oh, my God!"
Jayne collapsed against Pace, and he swung her up into his arms to carry her into the living room and put her down on the sofa before taking a seat next to her himself.
"Please sit down, Officer. I'm Pace Marshall, owner of the Marshall Family Ranch."
"Yes, sir. I know who you are."
Jayne couldn't believe what she was hearing, but Pace stepped in and took care of everything for her. There were no funeral arrangements to be made. Jake hadn't wanted a ceremony, and Jayne and Braeden were his only family. Pace had him buried in the town where he was born, in the same cemetery with his parents, which he thought was probably the best thing to do, and Jayne had just nodded numbly.
"Is it wrong that I don't really feel anything now that he's gone, but relief?" she asked him one evening, several months later, while they were lying in bed together.
"No, it's not. And if you feel anything other than complete contempt for the man, you're doing really well, because I can't get to numb. If he was here, alive, in front of me, I'd kill him again for what he did to you."
His body was all tense, as if he was ready to fight Jake right now, and, in a reversal of their usual roles, she soothed him as best she could.
"He's gone. We don't need to think about him again. It's a terrible thing to say, but he's not hanging over us anymore."
Pace nuzzled his nose against hers. "You are very wise, my Jayne."
"I have a wonderful example to learn from," she whispered, kissing him lovingly.
