it up her stomach, peppering her ribcage with slow kisses.

Before he knew what was happening, he was flat on his back, and she was straddling

him. Confused, he looked up at her. “You’re going too slow,” she said with a smile. “I may die

from anticipation if you keep this up.”

      “Annis, I—”

His words were forgotten as she slid down his shaft, her core a warm, velvet fist. She

gasped and closed her eyes, and he was scared to death he had hurt her.

A moment later she opened her eyes. “Amazing,” she whispered, and began to rock her

hips back and forth, her hand planted firmly on his chest.

“Cohen, make my body sing,” she whispered.

He sat up, grabbed her around the waist, and kissed her hard as her legs wrapped around

      his waist.

He didn’t know what would happen between him and Annis, where they would be in a

year or even six months. What he did know was that they were off to a fucking hot start.

He thought about Fate again. There were so many different paths to take, so many little

decisions that changed everything. His path had taken him through darkness, but as he looked up

at Annis, his face was bathed in golden light, a beacon of his future. He was glad that their fates,

as well as their bodies, were beautifully tangled.
