MacKenzie, Maryam, Lawrence, Jana, Tijana, Tine, and Elin: thank you for sharing your memories and sharpening mine. Rebekah Eliasen, you are a brave soul and bright star. I will always be grateful that the glacier brought you and your family into my life.
To my parents, Jana Kay Slater and Marc Braverman: I see myself growing more like you every day, and nothing could make me prouder. Thank you for always being my home, and for supporting me as I make new homes. I love you more than all the grains of sand on all the beaches in all the world.
To Quince: Look under your pillow.
To Arild: Isn’t it time to feed your sheep?
