But for as easy as it was, Connor still took the longest to write, the longest in … forever.

So maybe I should stop to thank my first Irishman for being the character who made me sit, and write, write, write, listen, listen, listen, and enjoy for the first time in a long time. He immersed me, and maybe it was the new accent, nuances, and language. Maybe it was the different tone, the other side of the organized crime coin, one I haven’t touched in the past with any real depth, but here he was, and there he is. I should thank that character for reminding me what it’s like to not go in knowing everything. Sometimes the best things happen when you learn along the way.

To my beta readers, the Irish ladies who went through Inflict with a fine tooth comb to make sure everything was as it should be, thank you, Sasha Elle and Elizarey. These were the ladies who taught me that bullshite is not a real thing in Ireland, and the difference between ye and yee. To name just a couple of things.

Nina, my awesome editor, as always, thank you for your skills and attention to detail. Only you would have caught that one inconsistency on the very first word at the last minute, haha.

And to my proofreaders, Eli and Julia, thank you ladies for your time, effort, and support. It always amazes me how willing you are to drop everything and help me when the time comes. Hugs and love to you.

For my readers, you make these journeys worth it, each and every single time.

Last, but certainly not least, for my family, my spouse, and my kiddos, I love you, and thank you. But please, for the next novel, let’s not decide to renovate the only section of the house where I work, or to catch the flu all at once come the final week of my deadlines, okay?
