Color drains from her face, and she puts her hand over her mouth. “OMG, I have cancer, don’t I?” she says, and tears spring from her eyes.
I don’t know how women tell these things to their husbands because I’ve made such a mess of it that now she thinks she has cancer. I roll my eyes. “You don’t have cancer, Marissa, you’re fine. You’re just pregnant.”
Her head snaps up and she looks at me, shocked. “Pregnant?” she says, tears still streaming down her cheeks. “Dr. Madison said that I’m pregnant?”
I smile at her hopeful tone. “Yes, Marissa. You are pregnant.”
“Are you happy about the baby?” she asks softly.
“Marissa, I’m ecstatic,” I say and give her another kiss.
She kisses me and hugs me. “I’m so happy, Tyler. I love you so much.”
“I love you too, honey.”
