“Francesca would be—is—Francesca is proud of you. I can feel it in here.” She touched her chest. “I’m proud of you. So damn proud.”
“Come on. You and I have a song to dance to.”
He ignored her questioning gaze as he led her to the Maserati and once he found the song, he turned the volume up as loud as it would go and reached for her hand.
“Can I have this dance?”
Jillian laughed. “This and all the dances for the rest of my life.”
It wasn’t the easiest to twirl her around on the hard ground, but he made do with what he had. Her eyes shone bright with unshed tears and her smile warmed his heart as Elvis Presley sang the lyrics of what was inside his heart, body and soul and he smiled at his fiancée and agreed with Elvis that, indeed, he was all shook up.
